At Living Nazareth, we believe the school year should revolve around the Liturgical Calendar and that breaks should be made to conform to that calendar rather than the other way around. Our yearly schedule begins in early to mid August and ends early June with prioritized breaks for the feasts of the angels in the Fall (9/29-10/2), Thanksgiving week, Christmas Break (12/17-1/6), Lenten Preparation (Monday before Ash Wednesday through Ash Wednesday), Holy Week, and Easter Week.
Additionally, we have a 4 day week. If a Holy Day, Solemnity, National Holiday, or Feast day occurs on a given week, then there is no school that day, allowing families to celebrate these occasions together. If two such days occur in the same week then each individually is observed respectively as a day off with the exception of Feast days (in this case the scheduled free time during the school day will be used to commemorate, and families are invited to join in the celebration). If no such days fall on a given week, then Wednesday is taken off to allow for a mid-week break.
